Well the day started very windy and cols with violent snow squalls. Our 2 Southwest microturbines are spinning like crazy, so lots of power.  They are mounted right outside the back door on the barn roof. More about this later. My little corgi, Emma had an emergency vet appointment. She has degenerative discs in her neck and was miserable on Friday, so got her right in. Our vet checked her over and she got a shot to easy the pain and help with any inflamation. She was a real good girl about it all. She's 12 and I want her comfortable and back to her happy, bouncy self.  Stopped at Burger King and got her a plain cheeseburger to boost her spirits. Normally this would have been gobbled right up, but she wasn't feeling well, so she took her time and nibbled.  Got caught in a whiteout, but Maxine(my trusty Ford Explorer) handled  the situation. We went on the The Feedbag, our Cobleskill supplier of farm products, picked up the cat food and some bottles of brewers yeast and then called ahead for a pizza.  Still real bad driving conditions and we were right down along the Schoharie Creek at the bottom of the mountain. Our farm is located 1,200 feet straight up! Grabbed the pizza at the Sloansville quick stop and headed on up through some blinding snow. Called to let Ron know we were ok and on our way home about 12 miles to go.  Had second thoughts about dropping off soda to the fundraiser for the Gloversville Cat Sanctuary fundraiser, as this was another 17 miles north and right into the storm. This was their first attempt at taking on a big project for the spay/ neuter of many rescued cats, soo.. A brief  stay at the farm, took care of a few things and headed back out. Oh my!  There was serious snow!  I found the location of the event and as soon as I stepped in ran into someone I had known for several years.  Things looked great, alot of support for this and i had to turn around and get back on the road. When I arrived it was about 5p.m. Horrible out with gusting winds to 40mph!  Time for the cats to be put to bed.  We have an insulated shed in the yard with kitty condos and eating and sleeping arrangements . With a cat door , so everyone can come and go as they see fit. My friend and I also run  Country Roads Animal Rescue, so we have many house guests awaiting adoption.  Winds were fierce, made sure everyone was safe for the night(certain cats stay together in the condos) others are allowed to come into the house through the cat door that is in the entryway.  Read for awhile and fell asleep watching t.v. Woke up around 11:30 p.m. checked on everyone, let Emma out, got a drink of fresh lemonade, put wood in the stoves and read a book until Coast to Coast with George Noory came on.  Creepy, creep, good stuff, but still pine for Art Bell.. Check it out.
